# zone.stress

Syntax

t := zone.stress(p)
zone.stress(p) := t

Get/set the zone stress. Get: The zone-averaged value of all the internal tetra is returned, weighted by volume. Set: All of the zone’s internal tetra are assigned the same stress value. Note that compressive stresses are negative.

Returns: t - zone stress tensor t - zone stress tensor p - zone pointer

Component Access

f := zone.stress (p)->xx
zone.stress (p)->xx := f

f := zone.stress.xx(p)
zone.stress.xx(p) := f

Get/set the $$xx$$-component of the zone stress.

Returns: f - $$xx$$-component of the zone stress tensor or value f - $$xx$$-component of the zone stress tensor or value p - zone pointer

Deprecated Component Access

Component access by adding an optional integer in the function arguments (zone.stress(p,<int, <int>>)) is deprecated. It remains available but will not be supported in future versions. See Component Access with Integers in FISH on the Deprecated Commands and FISH page for details.
