Zoning 3DEC Blocks
Blocks in 3DEC models are either rigid (infinitely stiff) or deformable. The choice of which to use depends on the problem being solved. Considerations are outlined in the next topic, i Rigid vs. Deformable. The rest of this section’s content is devoted to modeling deformable blocks. CS; this begs the question ‘where is the info then on modeling rigid blocks?’ The different zone types available are described in i Zone Types and methods for creating models with deformable blocks are described in i Generating Zones and i Importing and Merging.
