Grid Files

Grid files are used in FLAC3D only, for the purpose of constructing zones in one go from an input file.

Inclusion in a Model

There are three principal methods for including a grid file in a model.

• using the zone import command

• from the c File —> Open dialog

• from the File —> Grid▸ menu command

Note

when working in PFC, these methods are only available if FLAC3D is loaded (Tools —> Load FLAC3D).

Formats

The program supports import of grids from itasca (.f3grid), ansys (.lis), abaqus (.inp), or midas (.csv) formats. The Itasca grid format provides the ability to store group information.
