Interactive Use

Set Filter A: When the “Kind” attribute is set to “Dist,” position the mouse over the handle point of either plane ( pos_handl ) until the cursor indicates that position mode is ready ( cur_posit ). Left-click and drag to set the distance between the planes. Position the cursor over the center handle point, then click and drag to position the origin. Click on the red line between the planes and drag to change orientation (normal or dip/dip direction) of the planes.

Set Filter B: Set the “Kind” attribute to “Above” or “Below,” position the mouse over the handle point of the plane ( pos_handl ) until the cursor indicates that position mode is ready ( cur_posit ). Left-click and drag to position the origin of the plane. Position the mouse over the red orientation line, and click and drag to change the orientation (normal or dip/dip direction).


Attributes

Not: Invert the filter element’s selection.

Extent: If checked, only include the item if its entire extent fits within this filter element’s definition. If not checked, the item’s centroid is used to determine the location of the item and whether it is within the filter element’s definition.

Origin: Specify the x, y and z position of the plane’s origin.

Normal: Specify the orientation of the plane as a normal vector.

Dip/DD: Specify the orientation of the plane as a dip and dip direction (in degrees).

Kind: Specify the kind of filtering to do relative to the plane. Options are “Above” (in the direction of the normal vector), “Below” (opposite the direction of the normal vector) and “Dist” (a distance from either side of the plane).

Distance: Specify the distance on either side of the plane to include in the range.
