Syntax

v := data.vector.pos(vp)

data.vector.pos(vp) := v

Get/set the vector position.

Returns:

v - vector position vector

Accepts:

v - vector position vector

Arguments:

vp - vector pointer

Component Access

f := data.vector.pos (vp)->x
data.vector.pos (vp)->x := f

f := data.vector.pos.x(vp)

data.vector.pos.x(vp) := f

Get/set the $x$-component of the vector position.

Returns:

f - $x$-component of the vector position vector

Accepts:

f - $x$-component of the vector position vector

Arguments:

vp - vector pointer

Access other vector components ($y$, $z$) by substituting the component name where $x$ appears above. See Member Access Operator for information about accessing members from data types using ->.

Deprecated Component Access

Component access by adding an optional integer in the function arguments (data.vector.pos(vp,<int>)) is deprecated. It remains available but will not be supported in future versions. See Component Access with Integers in FISH on the Deprecated Commands and FISH page for details.
