struct.cable.grout.dir

Syntax

v := struct.cable.grout.dir(p,iend)

Get the direction vector in which element is being loaded by the coupling spring at end iend ∈ {1, 2}.

Returns:

v - displacement vector

Arguments:

p - pointer to a cable-type element

iend - end number of the element, iend ∈ {1, 2}

Component Access

f := struct.cable.grout.dir (p, iend)->x

f := struct.cable.grout.dir.x(p,iend)

Get the \(x\)-component of the direction vector in which element is being loaded by the coupling spring at end iend ∈ {1, 2}.

Returns:

f - \(x\)-component of the displacement vector

Arguments:

p - pointer to a cable element

iend - end number of the element, iend ∈ {1, 2}

Access other vector components (\(y\), \(z\) (3D only)) by substituting the component name where \(x\) appears above. See Member Access Operator for information about accessing members from data types using ->.

Deprecated Component Access

Component access by adding an optional integer in the function arguments (struct.cable.grout.dir(p,<int>)) is deprecated. It remains available but will not be supported in future versions. See Component Access with Integers in FISH on the Deprecated Commands and FISH page for details.
