Hiding Blocks
The Hide Blocks tool button () puts the mouse into a mode where it hides whatever block you click.
An alternative is to use the context menu in Selection mode (). With it, you can:
- right-click an unselected block and choose the Hide Block command, or
- right click a selected block (or one of several selected blocks) and choose the Hide Blocks command. (The Hide Block(s) command works whether faces or blocks are selected.)
Hide Blocks mode can be more useful for drilling into a model, whereas the Hide Blocks command can be more useful for hiding a range of blocks on the surface of the model. Although, the command can also be used with deep selection.
Groups
The context menu also has commands for hiding by group. When you right-click a block that has a group assigned, the context menu will include a command called “Hide Blocks in Group: <name>” where <name> is replaced with the actual group name.
When you right-click a block that has no group assigned, the context menu will have the command “Hide Blocks With No Group” which will hide all the blocks that have no group assigned.
Highlighted Groups
Under the Highlight Groups tool button () is a menu command called “Show Only Highlighted Blocks”. This command will make visible all blocks in the highlighted groups and hide all blocks in the non-highlighted groups.
Non-selected Blocks
Clicking the tool button labeled “Show only the selected blocks” () will cause all the blocks that are not selected to be hidden.
Bad Blocks
Clicking the tool button labeled “Show bad blocks” () will cause enough blocks to be hidden for you to be able to see the bad blocks from your current viewpoint.
