zone.stress.max

Syntax

f := zone.stress.max(z)

Note

  • In the description below, the following correspondence is assumed between 3D and 2D analysis:
    • 3D volumes <-> 2D areas

Get the maximum (most positive) principal value of the volume-averaged subzone (triangle in 2D, tetrahedron in 3D) stress. Note that compressive stresses are negative in FLAC.

Returns:

f - the maximum (most positive) principal stress of the zone

Arguments:

z - a zone pointer
