Toolbar
The toolbar is dynamic: the tools that appear on it change depending on what pane type is active. The main toolbar shows the tools for the currently active pane on its left side; on its right, tools for the Control Panel are grouped. The main toolbar may be floated, but it cannot be removed from display. It may only be docked adjacent to the main menu.
The specific tools available on the toolbar for each pane type are described in the documentation sections devoted to the different pane types: set of links here for each pane-type toolbar.
Execute/Stop Toggle
One important caveat to the foregoing is that — regardless of the type of active pane — the toolbar always provides the execute/stop toggle as the first button at its left end. The possible states of this toggle button are as follows.
- Execute (disabled)
- If the current pane does not contain a data file and the code is not currently cycling, this button appears. Command processing is unavailable.
- Execute (enabled)
- If the current pane contains a data file and the code is not currently cycling, this button appears. Pressing the button will cause the commands in the active pane to be processed.
- Stop
- If the code is currently cycling, this button appears. Pressing it will stop command processing.
Control Panel Tools
The toolbar also always provides the Control Panel Show/Hide and Control Sets buttons at the right end of the toolbar.
- Control Panel Show/Hide
- This button toggles the display state (visible/hidden) of the Control Panel.
- Control Sets
- This button is a drop-down menu that lists the control sets available for use in the Control Panel for the currently active pane. Each control set listed is a toggle. If the control set is visible, it is checked. Picking a checked control set will hide it; picking an unchecked control set will show it.
