Training
Introductory Training
Itasca offers introductory training courses for all its software products every spring at its Minneapolis office. Courses are taught by Itasca engineers with years of experience using the software in question for real-world applications.
New licensees receive one free seat in the next spring training courses as a part of their license purchase. Contact the code office or agent where your license was purchased to arrange attendance at the next spring introductory course.
Training Schedule and Options
In addition to the introductory training courses, there are many training courses and opportunities available throughout the year that may be of interest for those who require more specific instruction or for those who cannot attend the spring courses. Visit the Itasca website for the full schedule: http://www.itascacg.com/training-events/software-training.
Customized Training
Client-requested training courses are typically three to five days long. They consist of instruction related to engineering applications of Itasca software. Instruction is available either at Itasca or at the client’s location. Presentations are designed to provide new users with a recommended approach to apply Itasca software most efficiently for solving engineering problems and specifically for geomechanics analysis and design.
The training courses are designed to fit individual user needs and experience levels. Emphasis is placed on setting up and running common user problems. Accordingly, users are encouraged to submit sample problems prior to the training session for instructor review and preparation. These problems are used as practical applications of the code during the training sessions. The sessions usually involve discussion of the fundamentals of the code(s) followed by “hands-on” training.
