structure beam property
command
Syntax
- structure beam property keyword ... <range>
Primary keywords:
cross-sectional-area density direction-y moi moi-y moi-z plastic-moment plastic-moment-y plastic-moment-z plastic-shear plastic-shear-y plastic-shear-z shear-coefficient shear-coefficient-y shear-coefficient-z spacing thermal-expansion torsion-constant
Assigns properties to beam elements in the range. The properties consist of constitutive model properties, and additional properties of beam-type elements. The constitutive model property names are primary keywords, but are not included in the list above. The following properties are available, with the constitutive model properties listed first.
Beam Constitutive Model Properties
All beam constitutive models have properties associated with them. Properties are name value pairs, where the name is the keyword given in the command and the value type is specific to the property. The assignment will affect any beam-type element in the specified range whose constitutive model includes the property named (noting that some properties, such as young, appear in multiple beam constitutive models). There are four beam constitutive models: one elastic model, and three elastic-plastic models.
Beam Elastic Constitutive Model
Elastic
The isotropic elastic model: properties, description.
Beam Elastic-Plastic Constitutive Models
Mohr Coulomb
The Mohr Coulomb elasto-plasticity model in one-dimensional mode: properties, model description, plastic-modeling description.
Mohr Coulomb Strain Softening
The strain-softening/hardening Mohr Coulomb elasto-plasticity model in one-dimensional mode: properties, model description, plastic-modeling description.
von Mises
The von Mises elasto-plasticity model in one-dimensional mode: properties, model description, plastic-modeling description.
